When we walked in here, this place was nothing but red shag carpet.
Business in Fort Smith , it's a tight clique, and we've been on word-of-mouth for 13 years. We've never advertised outside of just business cards and through our friends.
Neon itself - 80% of the tubes are actually argon-filled. Every piece of glass is just bent uniquely to the pattern, the letter, the shape. Each tube has coating, phosphorous, for different colors - Purple, orange - Or then you can mix the gas with the coating. So the idea is to heat it up evenly all-around, so you produce your bend, so that when you puff into it with your blow hose, it just kind of brings it back into a tube form.
The relationship I've found with the banking is that the cash flow is essential, you've got to have that flow. Things will be tight, money may not be coming in the way you exactly need it to, but you have the work. And if you can look at your bank and just have them trust you, then they can give you that money to take on the next big job.
We'll get the material in to complete one, until the next one comes along. And that open business relationship is what's important. Being able to look at your customers. Being able to look at your bank - It's the same thing. It's that relationship that makes all the difference.
In the past 20 years of doing business I have moved banks a couple of times, and then finally settled here with First National, because they are local. And because I look to them to take care of me, because we're local. We're all doing business in the same pool. You've gotta have that partnership financially. Just keep the flow going. Definitely don't worry about it, because if you do your customers right, and you do good work, and just follow up. And just keep doing what you know to do.
